Job summary

Echos in New York is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to work directly with a leading pharmaceutical client. This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role for builders who ship production AI solutions from prototype to deployment.

You will design and deploy AI agents on enterprise data, collaborate with client teams on site, and orchestrate models across AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry, Databricks. Strong Python skills and ML frameworks required.

Qualifications

• Experience building AI agents, including orchestration and multi-step reasoning.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI/data workloads on at least one major cloud/enterprise platform (AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry, or Databricks).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python and modern AI/ML frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with clients and stakeholders.
• Builder's mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and end-to-end ownership.
• Experience deploying AI/ML systems in production enterprise environments.

The Role

We are hiring Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to work directly with one of our leading pharmaceutical clients. This is a hands on, client facing engineering role for people who love building. You will design and deploy AI agents on real enterprise data, work shoulder to shoulder with the client's teams, and own solutions from prototype to production.

FDEs are our most versatile engineers: part builder, part problem solver, part trusted advisor. If you want your code in production solving problems that matter, at the frontier of applied AI, this is the role.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents on enterprise data, taking them from concept to production
• Work on site and embedded with the client's teams to understand their problems and deliver solutions
• Build on open source and frontier models, fine tuning and orchestrating them for real world enterprise use cases
• Architect and deploy solutions across leading enterprise platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Palantir Foundry, and Databricks, leveraging their AI and data services
• Translate ambiguous business problems into working technical solutions, fast
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders, from engineers to executives
• Iterate rapidly based on client feedback, balancing speed with production grade quality

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience building AI agents, ideally on open source or frontier models (for example Llama, Mistral, Anthropic Claude, or similar), including agent orchestration, tool use, and multi step reasoning
• Hands on experience deploying and running AI and data workloads on at least one major cloud or enterprise platform (AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry, or Databricks), with the ability to work across more than one
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (Python and modern AI and ML frameworks)
• Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with clients, explain complex ideas simply, and build trust with senior stakeholders
• A builder's mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, biased toward action, and able to own a problem end to end
• Experience deploying AI and ML systems in production enterprise environments

Bonus Points

• Depth in one or more of AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), Azure (Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, AKS), Palantir Foundry, or Databricks
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma, life sciences, healthcare, finance) and an understanding of compliance, data governance, and security
• Familiarity with RAG, fine tuning, and evaluation of LLM applications
• Prior consulting or client facing delivery experience
