Invisible AI puts computer vision on the factory floor. Our cameras and AI models watch every cycle on an assembly line, so manufacturers can see standard work, microstops, downtime and ergonomic risk as it happens, and act on it. We work with global automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and other manufacturers across North America, Mexico and Europe.
Our Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) turn customer commitments into working production lines and measurable results with our platform.
The role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you own customer implementations from kickoff to measurable results. You scope sites, install and configure our system on the line, lead acceptance testing with customer engineering teams, train their users, and support each account as it grows.
This is a hands‑on technical role for an engineer with experience on the manufacturing floor. You will split your time between customer plants and remote work, serving as the customer’s primary technical contact and working closely with our Engineering and Product teams.
What you’ll do
- Scope the site. Assess customer production lines, document station requirements, and develop camera layouts and deployment plans.
- Prepare for deployment. Work with customer IT, cybersecurity, controls and facilities teams on network access, infrastructure and hardware installation.
- Deploy on the floor. Install and commission hardware, validate camera coverage, integrate PLC signals, and configure our applications for each customer’s processes.
- Validate the data. Confirm data quality and lead acceptance testing with customer engineering teams.
- Train and transition. Train customer users and administrators, deliver documentation, and lead go‑live readiness.
- Represent the customer. Triage issues on site and partner with Engineering and Product on fixes and product feedback.
- Own communication. Manage project plans and customer updates, using AI tooling to work efficiently, and lead regular customer meetings.
What we’re looking for
- Experience leading hardware and software implementations in a technical, customer‑facing role, such as field, applications, solutions, controls or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience working on a manufacturing floor, ideally automotive or Tier 1 assembly.
- Comfort with industrial networking and hardware: IP addressing, switches and PoE, Linux basics and remote access.
- Familiarity with PLCs and line data, or the drive to learn quickly.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to explain data clearly to operators, engineers and plant leadership.
- Strong ownership: you manage your own projects, follow through and keep customers informed.
- Ability to travel to customer sites regularly for multi‑day deployments and training sessions.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Multilingual, especially Spanish. Additional European languages are also valued.
- A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally on short notice.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, standard work, time studies, ergonomics or continuous improvement.
- Experience with computer vision, cameras or industrial IoT deployments.
- Scripting experience (Python or similar) and familiarity with Git.
- Experience using AI tools in your daily work, or with AI and machine learning products.
Travel and location
- Travel: Regular travel to customer sites, typically 20-40% of the time, including onsite deployments of about one week.
- Location: Remote. Open to candidates in the US, Latin America and Europe, ideally near a major airport.
- Work environment: Active production environments, where PPE and site safety requirements apply.
- Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience, plus a bonus based on individual and company achievement.
- See your work running on production lines and delivering measurable results for customers.
- Lead customer accounts end to end, with real ownership and impact.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product and Sales to shape the product roadmap.
- Help shape how we deploy and scale our AI platform across factories worldwide.
