Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer or Solutions Engineer.
• Experience with AI models, building agents, and AI tools.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience with APIs and system integrations.
• Python programming preferred.
• Cloud platforms experience, especially AWS or Azure.
• Healthcare IT systems and standards (Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, FHIR, HL7) and scheduling/hospital ops.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for new client implementations from design through deployment and go-live.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, IT, and customer stakeholders as well as internal teams.
• Translate solution requirements into technical design for the customer solution.
• Own the technical development, configuration and deployment of the customer solution using Opmed platform.
• Analyze healthcare operational data, validate AI recommendations, and explain value and tradeoffs.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure successful go-lives.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering, prioritizing new capabilities.
• Support pilots, new AI agents, and expansion projects within existing customers.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with healthcare organizations to configure, develop, and deploy Opmed’s solutions using our AI platform. You will translate customer needs into effective technical solutions, adapt the platform to fit customer workflows, and take ownership of successful implementations.

This highly customer-facing role serves as a bridge between customers and Opmed’s Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Enterprise Solutions teams. Your insights from the field will create immediate customer impact while helping shape the platform’s future capabilities.

Responsibilities

You will serve as the technical lead for new client implementations, owning technical delivery from initial design through deployment and go-live.

As part of your role, you will:

• Collaborate closely with clinical, administrative, IT, and other customer stakeholders, as well as Opmed’s Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams.

• Own the technical development, configuration and deployment of the customer solution using Opmed platform and capabilities

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Experience working with AI models, building agents, and using AI tools.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
• Programming experience in Python is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Experience with healthcare IT systems and standards, such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, FHIR, HL7, scheduling systems, or hospital operations.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites across the U.S., as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong experience partnering with enterprise customers and key stakeholders.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Customer Success.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to lead technical projects end-to-end.
