Job summary

Opmed.ai is transforming healthcare operations with AI, partnering with leading health systems to deploy AI-powered scheduling and workflow optimization. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with customers to configure, develop, and deploy Opmed’s solutions in production environments.

You will translate customer needs into technical designs, own end-to-end delivery, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Customer Success teams while traveling up to 40%

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role.
• Experience with AI models, agents, and AI tooling.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience with APIs and system integrations.
• Python programming experience preferred.
• Cloud experience (AWS or Azure).
• Healthcare IT systems and standards (Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, FHIR, HL7).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for new client implementations from design through go-live.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, IT stakeholders and internal teams.
• Translate requirements into technical design and deployment plans.
• Own development, configuration and deployment of customer solutions on the Opmed platform.
• Analyze healthcare data, validate AI recommendations, communicate value and tradeoffs.
• Troubleshoot issues and ensure successful go-lives.
• Provide feedback to Product/Engineering and prioritize capabilities.
• Support pilots and expansion projects within existing customers.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with healthcare organizations to configure, develop, and deploy Opmed’s solutions using our AI platform. You will translate customer needs into effective technical solutions, adapt the platform to fit customer workflows, and take ownership of successful implementations.

This highly customer-facing role serves as a bridge between customers and Opmed’s Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Enterprise Solutions teams. Your insights from the field will create immediate customer impact while helping shape the platform’s future capabilities.

Responsibilities

You will serve as the technical lead for new client implementations, owning technical delivery from initial design through deployment and go-live.

As part of your role, you will:

• Collaborate closely with clinical, administrative, IT, and other customer stakeholders, as well as Opmed’s Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams.
• Translate solution requirements into technical design
• Own the technical development, configuration and deployment of the customer solution using Opmed platform and capabilities
• Analyze healthcare operational data, validate AI recommendations, and help customers understand the value and tradeoffs behind the solution.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure successful go-lives.
• Collaborate with Opmed Product and Engineering and feed them with feedback/requests and prioritize new capabilities.
• Support pilots, new AI agents, and expansion projects within existing customers.

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Software Engineer, or in a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Experience working with AI models, building agents, and using AI tools.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
• Programming experience in Python is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Experience with healthcare IT systems and standards, such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, FHIR, HL7, scheduling systems, or hospital operations.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% to customer sites across the U.S., as needed.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong experience partnering with enterprise customers and key stakeholders.
