Ikuto is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge clinical stakeholders and our autonomous AI platform in the healthcare space. You will scope complex workflows with physicians and hospital IT leaders and translate them into production-grade AI agents built with Python, React/TypeScript, and LLM frameworks.

Qualifications

• 1-6 years of experience in Full-Stack Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or founding/early engineering roles.
• At least one “Peak” signal on your profile (Top 10 CS/STEM degree, fast-track promotions, founding engineer background, or startup experience).
• Experience with healthcare AI tools or fast-paced startups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• 50% Client-facing scoping: work with physicians and hospital IT leaders to map workflows and translate requirements into agent specs.
• 50% Hands-on AI agent building: scope, build, deploy, and evaluate production-grade AI agents end-to-end using Python, TypeScript/React, and LLM frameworks.
• Own the feedback loop and iterate from clinician issues to live platform fixes within days.

Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Agents / Healthcare)

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth, Series B AI start-up backed by top-tier VCs (including Khosla Ventures) that is revolutionizing enterprise healthcare. Their core product, an agentic AI platform, enables health systems to build and deploy autonomous AI agents that reason across millions of patient records to execute complex clinical and operational tasks.

Having grown revenue 30x over the last 14 months and expanded deployments across premier health systems (like Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic), they are rapidly scaling their technical team.

We are looking for 5 Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to serve as the critical link between clinical stakeholders and their production AI platform.

What You'll Do

• 50% Client-Facing Scoping: Partner directly with physicians, hospital IT leaders, and clinical champions to map complex workflows and translate loosely defined requirements into technical agent specifications.
• 50% Hands-On AI Agent Building: Scope, build, deploy, and evaluate production-grade AI agents end-to-end using Python, TypeScript/React, and LLM frameworks.
• Rapid Iteration: Own the full feedback loop - moving from a clinician's operational issue to a live platform/agent fix in days.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Seniority

• 1-6 years of experience in Full-Stack Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, or Founding/Early Engineering roles.
• At least one "Peak" signal on your profile: Top 10 CS/STEM degree, fast-track promotions, founding engineer background, or experience at a high-bar startup.

Technical Skills

• Primary: Strong proficiency in Python (backend) and React/TypeScript (frontend).
• Secondary / Plus: Familiarity with Rust, AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, or healthcare data standards (FHIR/EHR integrations).

Target Backgrounds

• Engineers from high-velocity B2B SaaS startups, forward-deployed model platforms (e.g., Scale AI, Baseten, Glean, Palantir), healthcare AI tools (e.g., Abridge, Ambience), or fast-paced LLM/agent product startups.
