Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Forward Deployed Data Engineer in Frisco, TX, with a hybrid on-site expectation (3 days/week). You will design, deploy, and optimize high-performance data infrastructure, pipelines, and context engines that power AI and enterprise applications in live customer environments.

You will collaborate across global teams, own data-quality and observability, and translate complex business challenges into scalable software solutions using Python, SQL, Airflow, dbt, and cloud

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and advanced SQL optimization.
• Experience designing and orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines with Airflow, dbt, Kafka.
• Strong data modeling, distributed computing and cloud-native deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Hands-on with vector databases and indexing for high-context search.
• Familiar with data quality, lineage, and observability tools.
• Cloud certifications or willingness to earn them during tenure.
• Bachelors in CS/Data Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time data.
• Architect distributed systems across hybrid and cloud-native environments for performance and cost.
• Diagnose bottlenecks across diverse schemas and data layers.
• Deploy and manage vector databases and AI-grounding components.
• Build robust APIs and feature stores for real-time ML and inference.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and compliance across pipelines.
• Collaborate with global teams and drive customer-focused outcomes.
