Job summary

Luma is seeking a Forward Deployed Creative to bridge cutting-edge AI technology with world-class storytelling for top brands. You will shape workflows, write the playbook, and craft portfolio-worthy content using AI-driven tools.

You will operate as a strategic consultant, translating complex capabilities into tangible opportunities, while collaborating with Product, Partnership, and Sales to define the roadmap for this new function.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior, client-facing creative role (agency, studio or tech).
• Outstanding portfolio of high-craft, shipped creative work demonstrating taste and storytelling.
• Builder/pioneer with track record creating new things in ambiguous, fast-paced settings.
• Deep expertise in creative production pipelines (VFX, animation, motion graphics).
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with top brands and creative agencies as trusted creative and strategic guide to generative AI.
• Architect and prototype AI-accelerated production workflows to speed storytelling.
• Create hands-on, high-craft content using Dream Machine and produce inspirational case studies.
• Consult with partner leadership; translate technical capabilities into creative/business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product, Partnership, and Sales teams; bring insights to roadmap.
• Set the tone and playbook for partner engagement in Forward Deployed Creative.
• Educate and inspire the creative community; evangelize the new medium of generative video.

You won't just be running a playbook; you'll be leveraging your deep expertise to write it in real-time, pioneering the workflows that will define the future of AI-powered storytelling.

What You'll Do

This is a 0-to-1 opportunity to build a new function from the ground up. You will:

• Partner directly with the world's leading brands and creative agencies, acting as their trusted creative and strategic guide to the world of generative AI.
• Architect and prototype novel, AI-accelerated production workflows, helping our partners move faster and level up their storytelling.
• Create hands-on, high-craft content using Dream Machine, setting the bar for what's possible and producing inspirational case studies.
• Consult with partner leadership, translating complex technical capabilities into tangible creative and business opportunities.
• Collaborate internally as an on-the-ground extension of our Product, Partnership, and Sales teams, bringing real-world insights back to shape our roadmap.
• Build the foundation for the Forward Deployed Creative function by setting the tone and creating the playbook for partner engagement.
• Educate and inspire the creative community, acting as a key evangelist for Luma and the new medium of generative video.

Who You Are

• Significant professional experience in a role like Creative Technologist, Technical Director, or a similar client-facing, senior creative position at a top-tier agency, studio, or tech company.
• An outstanding and non-negotiable portfolio of shipped, high-craft creative work that demonstrates exceptional taste, technical skill or storytelling ability.
• A "builder" and "pioneer" with a proven history of creating new things from scratch in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Deep expertise in creative production pipelines (VFX, animation, motion graphics, or production) and the ability to design and implement new workflows.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to act as a strategic consultant to senior creative and business leaders.
• A genuine passion for the creative potential of AI and our mission to expand human imagination.

What Sets You Apart (Bonus Points)

• Hands-on experience with generative AI creative tools (e.g., Midjourney, Runway, Pika, Stable Diffusion).
• A public profile as a thought leader or creator in the emerging tech or generative art space.
• Experience at an innovative creative agency (e.g., Buck, The Mill, Media.Monks) or an in-house tech/brand lab (e.g., Google Creative Lab, Apple Marcom).

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $150,000 – $200,000 per year.
