Job summary

clipboard is seeking a client-focused consultant who can own complex customer problems end-to-end in a fast-paced setting. You will build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from operators to executives, and translate chaos into actionable plans with defined owners and dates.

The role demands comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to drive outcomes—often requiring on-site visits at SF client sites.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

• Own critical customer problems (such as complex labor/payroll integrations) from diagnosis through resolution, not just the analysis
• Build real relationships with customer stakeholders, from operators on the ground to executives
• Turn chaos into plans: clear workstreams, owners, dates, and a straight answer on what we’re not doing yet
• Manage internal stakeholders across product, engineering, and ops to get customer issues actually fixed
• Keep everything moving. When commitments are made, you make sure they’re kept
• Travel to customer sites on occasion, because some problems only make sense in person

Location

This is an onsite role based in our San Francisco office. If you’re not in the Bay Area but willing to move, we’re open to relocation.

Who you’re

• 3‑4 years in consulting, or a similar role where you managed demanding clients and messy problems at the same time
• Comfortable in ambiguity: you can walk into a situation with incomplete information and leave with a plan. You thrive in environments where you have to operate with organized chaos.
• Strong written and verbal communicator, especially when the news is bad
• Analytical enough to find the real story in the data, skeptical enough not to trust the topline
• You’d rather own an outcome than a task
