Job summary

Nexus is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead AI Agent strategy and implementation across major manufacturing environments in the United States. You will be the technical face of Nexus with multiple clients, owning relationships from kickoff to expansion and translating field learnings into scalable playbooks.

You will design agent workflows for automated root-cause analysis, production scheduling, and process optimization, impacting billions in product flow and revenue.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with fluency in today's AI stack.
• Ability to handle ambiguity at portfolio scale across multiple clients/sites.
• Proven excellence through a mix of academic work, professional experience, or open-source contributions.
• Evidence of high agency and independent thinking; ownership of shipped work or projects.

Responsibilities

• Own AI Agent strategy and implementation for large manufacturers across multiple sites.
• Design and ship large-scale agent workflows for automation, scheduling, and root-cause analysis.
• Manage relationships across sites and deployments; turn learnings into playbooks and reusable components.
• Present technical ideas clearly to plant managers and process engineers.
