Job summary

AET Federal Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions for government and enterprise customers.

This role acts as a technical bridge between AI capabilities and customer mission requirements. The ideal candidate combines software engineering strengths with hands-on experience in Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, APIs, cloud technologies, and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• 3+ years of professional software/AI engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI agent development.
• Experience with REST APIs, SQL databases, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Understanding of AI application development (RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or LLM frameworks).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand workflows, processes, and mission requirements with customers to identify AI automation opportunities.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and AI-enabled applications (LLMs, RAG, agentic AI frameworks).
• Write production-quality code in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript for AI solutions and integrations.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise/government systems via REST APIs, connectors, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Support integrations with Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and other enterprise apps.
• Lead technical implementation activities for pilots, prototypes, and production deployments.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and secure AI solutions for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, data, and program teams to meet requirements.
• Provide feedback to continuously improve AI capabilities.
