Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking an AI Forward Deployed Engineer to translate client workflows and objectives into practical AI-powered solutions. You will design end-to-end systems, integrate models with data sources, APIs, and infrastructure, and deploy solutions in real operational settings.

You will iterate quickly, troubleshoot across the full tech stack, and collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to refine AI capabilities based on field experience.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ML, or AI roles
• Hands-on AI/ML expertise including Generative AI (LLMs, RAG)
• Experience with agent-based AI solutions (e.g., Bedrock or similar)
• Strong programming skills (Python) and cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Working knowledge of SQL, ETL pipelines, and large-scale data processing (Spark)
• Experience with modern deployment practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
• Ability to prototype quickly and translate ideas into working solutions
• Strong communication skills for client-facing work
• Understanding of secure development practices for AI systems
• Product-minded: design end-to-end solutions aligned with user needs

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI models and end-to-end AI-powered solutions
• Deliver demos, proofs of concept, and production-grade implementations
• Evaluate model performance and optimize algorithms
• Support sales and delivery across cloud, data, and AI domains
• Articulate integrated AI solutions spanning advisory, engineering, and operations
• Communicate results and actionable insights to clients
