Job summary

Virtual Tech Gurus in Cary, NC, seeks Deployment Engineers to support a large-scale migration from Check Point firewalls to Fortinet security solutions. You will focus on firewall deployments, policy migrations, infrastructure rollouts, OS patching, and enterprise network modernization.

Responsibilities include deploying FortiGate, migrating rules and VPN configurations, performing implementation and testing, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure smooth cutovers across enterprise

Qualifications

• 3+ years of network deployment, engineering, or security experience.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate appliances.
• Experience with Check Point firewalls.
• Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching.
• Experience deploying and upgrading firewalls.
• VPN deployment and troubleshooting.
• Network troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Experience in enterprise infrastructure support.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure FortiGate firewall solutions.
• Support migration of firewall rules, policies, NAT, and VPN configurations from Check Point environments.
• Perform implementation, validation, and testing activities.
• Troubleshoot network and security issues during migration events.
• Execute deployment and rollout activities across enterprise locations.
• Support infrastructure upgrades and OS patching initiatives.
• Participate in maintenance windows and change management processes.
• Assist with documentation and knowledge transfer activities.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure successful cutovers and migrations.
