Job summary

Próximo Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Cook in Fort Wayne, IN. The role focuses on preparing lunch and/or dinners, following established menus and recipes, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met.

You will plan meals with the general manager and kitchen manager, help with purchasing and inventory of the food supply, coordinate with other departments as needed, and demonstrate cooking skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; culinary training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of culinary institute, military school or formal on-the-job training a plus
• Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience required
• Experience with quantity food preparation preferred
• Demonstrate cooking skills and ability to follow established menus and recipes
• Knowledge of proper nutritional requirements
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare lunch and/or dinners
• Meal planning in conjunction with general manager & Kitchen manager
• Review menus prior to preparation of food
• Assure that all food procedures are followed
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
• Assist with the purchase and inventory of the food supply
• Follow all sanitation guidelines
• Become familiar with new menu items/dishes
