Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• US Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with quality assurance, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with RMS/QCS and federal construction management practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects.
• Serve as subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems and ensure compliance with applicable codes.
• Perform design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams.
• Review contractor submittals and provide technical comments and recommendations.
• Coordinate RFI responses and field changes; schedule final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
