Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

The candidate will act as SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes throughout design reviews, inspections, and testing. Responsibilities include coordinating with project teams, conducting plans reviews, site inspections, and providing technical guidance on fire protection

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
US Army Corps of Engineers or federal project experience preferred.
Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
Strong written and verbal communication and coordination with government personnel.

Responsibilities

Establish understanding of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA fire protection requirements.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
Perform plan-in-hand reviews and apply lessons from all project phases.
Conduct inspections per documentation and contract requirements.
Evaluate work practices for compliance with fire protection codes and policies.
Prepare detailed technical reports with deficiencies and corrective actions.
Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
Serve as fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
Review contractor submittals and provide technical comments.
Evaluate RFIs and review field changes.
Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
Perform QA oversight and document findings.
