Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will serve as the SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes. Responsibilities include design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams through all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning and acceptance testing.
• Familiarity with RMS/QCS and federal construction practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work with government personnel and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA fire protection standards.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to execute fire protection features.
• Perform plan-in-hand reviews and QA across construction phases.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs with technical comments.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Provide guidance on facility design and life-safety considerations.
• Serve as a fire-safety consultant to project managers and government personnel.
• Conduct inspections in compliance with contract requirements.
