Job summary

CMC is hiring for a hands-on form builder/carpentry role in our Charleston, SC operations. You will read blueprints, cut and assemble form materials, and install form hardware while ensuring accuracy and safety on the production floor.

You will collaborate with welders, finishers, and quality personnel to meet concrete production goals, support setup and stripping, and maintain a clean, safe workplace daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience in carpentry, form building, or precast concrete is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and measurement instruments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physical production environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and maintain precast concrete forms and molds according to production drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate form construction.
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood, steel, and other form materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Install form hardware, blockouts, embeds, and accessories per project specs.
• Inspect forms for quality, alignment and dimensional accuracy before concrete placement.
• Repair, modify, and rebuild forms to support changing production needs.
• Support setup, concrete prep, and form stripping activities.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow PPE rules.
• Collaborate with production teams to meet manufacturing goals and report safety or quality issues.
