Job summary

SHATTUCK LABS, INC. seeks a Scientist (I, II, or Senior) in Formulation Sciences (Tech Ops) in Durham, NC.

This role focuses on developing formulations for clinical and commercial manufacturing, partnering with CDMOs and external vendors to advance delivery devices, and preparing data for regulatory filings. The candidate will lead pre-formulation activities, design stability studies, apply analytical methods, and support technology transfer to pilot plants and CDMOs for worldwide delivery of

Qualifications

Ph.D. or Master’s/Bachelor’s with significant formulation development experience in pharma/biotech.
Experience developing formulations for protein therapeutics, including high concentration liquids.
Knowledge of stability studies, degradation, and regulatory-relevant data.
Experience with analytical/biophysical instrumentation used in formulation development.
Ability to author technical reports and bring new tech to formulation workflows.
Familiarity with DOE/Design of Experiments and JMP or Minitab.

Responsibilities

Lead pre-formulation and formulation development for drug substance/product.
Coordinate with external companies for pre-filled syringes, auto-injectors, and delivery systems.
Design and oversee stability studies; write/ review protocols and data.
Characterize formulation performance using biophysical/analytical methods.
Prepare technical documents for manufacturing transfers and regulatory filings.
Collaborate across teams to enable scalable fill-finish processes.
Mentor colleagues in formulation development and GxP practices.
