Job summary

Avid Bioservices in Tustin, CA is seeking a Research Associate, Formulation Development to independently plan and execute formulation-development studies for protein-based biologics, including monoclonal antibodies, across preclinical and clinical programs.

The role emphasizes data interpretation, protocol authoring, and presenting conclusions to cross-functional teams, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and lab efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological or physical science.
• 1+ year of hands-on laboratory experience.
• Ability to plan studies, interpret data, and propose next steps.
• Hands-on experience with protein-based biologics and analytical characterization.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute formulation-development studies including buffer/excipient prep, protein concentration measurements, diafiltration, vial fills, stability studies, and analytical characterization.
• Generate and interpret analytical data (pH, conductivity, protein concentration, turbidity, viscosity, SEC-HPLC, CEX, icIEF).
• Investigate atypical or unexpected results and recommend next steps.
• Troubleshoot routine formulation/method/instrument issues and determine resolutions.
• Author and revise protocols, reports, development summaries, and investigations for data integrity.
• Present conclusions to Process Development and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Contribute to continual improvement of formulation approaches and lab efficiency.
