Job summary

The Stamping Forming Engineer at Stellantis performs virtual stamping tryouts on draw and secondary dies for new vehicle programs and supports current production requirements. The role aims to achieve quality targets in formability, aesthetics, and dimensional accuracy, delivering die developments, simulation results, and NC models on schedule.

You will review simulations, document part status through the launch process, and maintain SPE Operations records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and Six Sigma.
• Understanding of sheet metal materials and computational mechanics.
• Hands-on experience with stamping software Autoform, LS-Dyna, or Pamstamp.
• Experience with a commercial CAD package to create surfaces.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform virtual stamping tryout on draw and secondary dies for new vehicle programs.

• Assist hard tooling and home line tryouts using virtual tryout results.

The Stamping Forming Engineer's responsibilities include performing virtual stamping tryout on draw and secondary dies for new vehicle model programs, and support current volume production model requirements. The Forming Engineer is responsible to achieving quality targets in formability, aesthetics, and dimensional; deliver die developments, simulation results, NC models per program timing, supporting hard tool, and home line tryout using virtual tryout results. He/she will review the simulations submitted and provide feedback. They will document the status of the parts as they progress through the vehicle launch process; clay review, feasibility, through program launch, and maintain project documents in the SPE Operations database. Support the stamping plant and all related activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Knowledge and understanding of Finite Element Analysis, Manufacturing, GD&T, and 6-sigma processes.
• Sheet metal materials characteristics, understanding, and computarional Mechanics.
• Hands-on experience in any one of the stamping software's: Autoform, LS-Dyna, & Pamstamp
• Hands-on experience in any commercial CAD package to create surfaces.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize workload to meet program specific deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experiences in either NX or CATIA to create die surfaces.
• Stamping Plant and or Die Shop experience
• Strong knowledge of PC/Linux, Lotus-Notes Database, MS-Office, and Statistics (Standard Deviation, Sigma, DOE).
