Job summary

Fathom Digital Manufacturing is seeking a Forming / Press Brake Supervisor to lead and coordinate all press brake and forming operations in a precision sheet metal environment. You will drive safety, efficiency and on‑time delivery while coaching operators and implementing continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, CAD/GD&T knowledge, and CNC programming experience, with hands‑on involvement in tooling selection and setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in precision sheet metal forming/press brake operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of press brake and forming departments across assigned shift(s).
• Assign work, monitor workflow, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules.
• Ensure adherence to production targets, throughput goals, and on‑time delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with production planning, engineering, and other departments to resolve scheduling or capacity issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop press brake operators and forming personnel.
• Conduct training on equipment, processes, safety, and quality standards.
• Perform performance evaluations and attendance management as needed.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee setup and operation of CNC press brakes (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic).
• Ensure correct tooling selection, setup, and programming for optimal performance.
• Review and interpret blueprints, work orders, and geometric tolerances.
• Troubleshoot forming issues and support operators with technical challenges.
• Ensure parts meet customer specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Partner with Quality to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Promote first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
• Drive reduction in scrap and rework.
• Enforce all safety policies, including machine guarding and PPE usage.
• Conduct regular safety audits and address hazards immediately.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Identify and implement productivity, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, standard work).
• Optimize machine utilization, setup times, and workflow layout.
• Track and analyze KPIs.
