Job summary

Fathom Digital Manufacturing is seeking a Forming / Press Brake Supervisor to lead and coordinate all press brake and forming operations in a precision sheet metal environment. You will drive safety, efficiency and on‑time delivery while coaching operators and implementing continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, CAD/GD&T knowledge, and CNC programming experience, with hands‑on involvement in tooling selection and setup.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in precision sheet metal forming/press brake operations.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of press brake and forming departments across assigned shift(s).
Assign work, monitor workflow, and adjust priorities to meet production schedules.
Ensure adherence to production targets, throughput goals, and on‑time delivery requirements.
Coordinate with production planning, engineering, and other departments to resolve scheduling or capacity issues.
Lead, coach, and develop press brake operators and forming personnel.
Conduct training on equipment, processes, safety, and quality standards.
Perform performance evaluations and attendance management as needed.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Oversee setup and operation of CNC press brakes (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic).
Ensure correct tooling selection, setup, and programming for optimal performance.
Review and interpret blueprints, work orders, and geometric tolerances.
Troubleshoot forming issues and support operators with technical challenges.
Ensure parts meet customer specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
Partner with Quality to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
Promote first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
Drive reduction in scrap and rework.
Enforce all safety policies, including machine guarding and PPE usage.
Conduct regular safety audits and address hazards immediately.
Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Identify and implement productivity, efficiency, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Support lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, standard work).
Optimize machine utilization, setup times, and workflow layout.
Track and analyze KPIs.
