Job Description Summary

We offer a dynamic, fast‑paced work environment in jet engine fan and compressor airfoils production. The starting hourly rate is $30.68 per hour with pay progression every year for 6 years. Shift differential starts at 10% for off‑shifts. Benefits include health care from day one, 401(k) savings plan with generous employer match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement. Available positions are on 2nd shift, with initial training on 1st shift. The forming business offers a 4×10 hour work schedule. Starting dates August2026 forward.

Working at our Rutland Facility

Our manufacturing facilities in Vermont have helped fuel the growth and success of GE Aerospace. With over 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space across two sites we have an advanced mix of machinery and technologies. Rutland’s products are featured in nearly every GE Aerospace engine line.

Roles

Production tasks may include the setup and/or operation of production machining equipment and processes such as:

  • Alkaline Clean: Operate and maintain alkaline and rinse tanks. Monitor chemical makeup documents and chemical usage. Operator must move parts as needed and wear proper protective equipment.
  • Machine Operate: Includes understanding and performing skills for each machine, locating work instructions and IC stations, proper material handling, machine prechecks, operate, inspect, set up, minor maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Forming Presses: Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot vertical or horizontal presses, setup rotary ovens and other supporting equipment, inspect, maintain dies, polish and resurface to meet standards. Duties also include: set up/operate hot/cold shear, inspect shear knife thickness and shim, determine front and back support alignment, adjust diameter length of raw stock, adjust controller for slug length/heat and material.
  • Benching Operations: Bench blending, contour, airfoil thickness, chord, platforms, lead edge and trail edge profile, penetrant rejects, stems & buttons, flow blockers and fillet radii, radius, deburr, buffing, visual inspect, auto bench operate/set up, in‑process and final tollgate inspection, and bench visual.
  • Dip Coat: Operate and set up spray and dip coat stations. Set up and operate viscometers, spraying equipment, mix coatings to specific mixes as specified in the work instructions.

You will operate in accordance with rigorous quality and safety practices and procedures, and you will be assigned a training plan outlining the skill(s) you will initially learn. The pay for this position is $30.68 per hour. This posting is expected to close August2026.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of manufacturing experience or equivalent (construction, quarry work, auto mechanics, military, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, machining, assembly, vocational or technical trade training).
  • Pass pre‑employment background check, physical and drug screen including but not limited to testing for marijuana/THC.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.

Role may require working high risk or hazardous operations, chemicals, shift beyond a standard work week. Must be at least 18 years of age by joining date.
