Job summary

GE Aerospace in Rutland, Vermont seeks a production operator for jet engine fan and compressor airfoil manufacturing. Starting hourly rate $30.68 with six years of pay progression and a 10% shift differential for off-shifts.

Training may occur on first shift; normal shifts are second and third with four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts. First-day health care benefits, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement are provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be a U.S. person for access to export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production tasks and operate machining equipment.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, broaches, and forming presses.
  • Conduct batch and bench operations as assigned.
  • Follow quality and safety procedures and complete required training.

Job description

Job Summary

Dynamic, fast‑paced production environment in jet engine fan and compressor airfoil manufacturing at GE Aerospace's Rutland, Vermont facility. Starting hourly rate $30.68 with annual pay progression for six years. Shift differential of 10% for off‑shift work. Training may be on first shift; regular shifts are second and third, with schedule options of four 10‑hour shifts or five 8‑hour shifts. First‑day health‑care benefits, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Perform production tasks, including setup and operation of machining equipment such as:

  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines
  • Broaches
  • Forming presses
  • Batch operations
  • Bench operations

Other responsibilities as assigned. Operate in accordance with rigorous quality and safety procedures and complete a training plan outlining required skills.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience or equivalent (construction, quarry work, auto mechanics, military, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, machining, assembly, or vocational/technical trade training)
  • Pass a pre‑employment background check, physical, and drug screen (including marijuana/THC testing)
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status (required for access to U.S. export‑controlled information)
