Overview

We offer a dynamic, fast-paced work environment in jet engine fan and compressor airfoils production. The starting hourly rate is $30.68 per hour with pay progression every year for 6 years. Shift differential starts at 10% for off shifts. Positions are available on 2nd shift, though initial training may occur on 1st shift. The Forming business offers a dynamic 4 x 10 hour work schedule. Starting dates are August 2026 onward.

About the Facility

Our Rutland Facility has helped fuel the growth and success of GE Aerospace for over 70 years. With more than 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space across two sites, we employ advanced machinery and technologies to produce world‑class compressor airfoils. Our products are featured in nearly every GE Aerospace engine line.

Responsibilities
  • Alkaline Clean: Operate and maintain alkaline and rinse tanks. Monitor chemical makeup documents and usage. Move parts as needed and wear proper protective equipment.
  • Machine Operation: Understand and perform all machine operation skills. Locate work instructions and IC stations. Conduct material handling, machine prechecks, operation, inspection, setup, minor maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Forming Presses: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot vertical or horizontal presses; set up rotary ovens and other supporting equipment. Maintain dies, polish, and resurface to meet standards. Operate hot/cold shear, inspect knife thickness, and adjust equipment settings.
  • Benching Operations: Bench and inspect characteristics such as Bench Blend, Contour, Airfoil Thickness, Chord, Platforms, Lead and Trail Edge profile, Penetrant rejects, stems & buttons, flow blockers, fillet radii, radius, deburr, buffing, and visual inspection. Perform bench visual and final tollgate inspection.
  • Dip Coat: Operate and set up spray and dip coat stations. Set up and operate viscometers and spraying equipment. Mix coatings to specified mixes as directed by work instructions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of manufacturing experience or equivalent hands‑on experience (construction, slate/quarry work, auto mechanics, military, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, machining, assembly, vocational/technical trade training).
  • Must pass pre‑employment background check, physical, and drug screen (including for marijuana/THC).
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Minimum age 18; capable of handling high risk or hazardous operations (chemicals, long shifts).
Desired Backgrounds
  • Associate’s degree or higher; Certified Production Technician certification, Vocational‑Technical training, or related coursework.
