Job summary

Trojan Battery in Santa Fe Springs, CA seeks a Formation Operator to ensure correct acid levels and perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects while following safety guidelines.

You will place caps, stack on/off conveyors, identify defects, verify polarity, select cables, use the table lift, and maintain PPE compliance while upholding production and quality standards daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months - 1-year machine operator experience.
• Stand-up Lift / Forklift Certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Read and understand basic English.
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Experience in an assembly/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type.
• Perform the proper function of stacking on / off from conveyors.
• Identify all defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill).
• Analyze the correct direction of the batteries during off bearing. (Understand correct polarity of batteries).
• Identify the correct cable (jumpers) to be placed on specific types of batteries.
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing.
• Ensure correct marking on the battery rack to aid Circuit Tender.
• Display correct use of PPE.
• Perform general housekeeping.
• Meets all quality requirements and standards.
• Meets all production requirements.

Position Overview

Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00/hr
