Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift operator certified with proficient skill in the safe operation of forklift, yard lifts, and yard trucks.
• Current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• 1+ year of experience warehouse related experience with a successful track record of safety and accuracy.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in verbal and written English fluently.
• Able to work with initiative and minimal supervision and is goal oriented.
• Computer and tablet literate along with working knowledge of camera use in order to take pictures of cargo.
• Strong business math skills.
• Able to read, interpret, and apply information from office documents.
• Able to effectively communicate regarding completed work and accurately ascertain estimated time to completion of outstanding work.
• Able to build strong relationships with intra-company employees and drivers.
• Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, task and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, including reach, clamp, and standard forklifts.
• Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
• Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including inventory checks and order verification.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
• Organize customer products by type, lot number, or required classifications.
• Perform routine forklift maintenance checks and report issues.
• Operate yard lifts and yard trucks safely and efficiently.
• Conduct yard checks at designated times and set docks for the next day.
• Prioritize driver movements and ensure containers are clean and secured.
• Notify management of unfinished work to enable corrective action.
• Complete and submit required load documentation and end-of-day reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area free of OSHA violations.
• Coordinate yard traffic when necessary.
• Notify management about equipment needing repair or replacement.
• Develop professional relationships with customers and drivers.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance all experiences with MainOcean.
• Additional duties as assigned.
