Job summary

Handsome Brook Farm is seeking a Warehouse Worker to handle day-to-day shipping/receiving, material handling, and loading/unloading trucks in a food production setting. You will ensure timely and accurate movement of materials through production and staging areas, while maintaining safety and PPE compliance.

The role requires operating forklifts, entering receipts in ERP, and supporting inventory counts with a strong focus on GMP/HACCP standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred 3 years as a forklift/material handler in a warehouse environment.
• Preferred 3 years of Manufacturing, Food Industry.
• Ability to be forklift certified and maintain certification annually.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout the shift.
• Ability to follow all safety and PPE requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety requirements, including PPE.
• Follow GMPs, maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Maintain forklifts, hand-trucks, pallet-jacks; inspect batteries, water levels, lights, horns, tires, mirrors, oil levels, backup beeps; ensure parts are in good condition.
• Verify deliveries/discrepancies by counting materials and comparing delivery reports.
• Enter delivery receipts or material movements in ERP.
• Organize and rotate material with new stock.
• Maintain FIFO in staging; rotate date-sensitive stock to front of rack.
• Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and materials properly.
• Assist warehouse manager with inventory balances via cycle counts.
• Locate storage racks and set pallets with forklift or pallet-jack; enter data into database.
• Perform count checks of incoming freight in staging areas.
• Remove empty pallets and packing materials; inspect pallets for damage; move to proper storage area.
• Adhere to work methods, safety policies and company guidelines.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards.
• Work from receiving sheets, procedures, and instructions.
• Inspect items for damage; perform temperature and quality checks as needed.
• Label open or partial ingredients or packing materials properly.
• Must be able to operate forklift and maintain certification annually.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to FDA, USDA, OSHA, HACCP requirements.
• Bilingual is a plus.
