Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Elwood, IL is hiring a Material Handler/Forklift Operator with a $23 per hour pay rate and a Sunday–Wednesday shift (6:00 AM–4:30 PM). The role offers weekly pay, paid training, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) with company match.

Responsibilities include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation in a safety-focused warehouse environment. Positive attitude and teamwork are valued across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Able to work within a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Follow contract performance guidelines.
• Ensure accurate picking/packing, auditing, tote induction, staging, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Provide technical/maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production hours.
• Perform duties per contract performance guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
