Job summary

Olgoonik is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic GDEC TO34 in San Diego, CA to repair and upgrade forklift trucks and transportation vehicles. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform tests, and order parts to restore operation.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED (May substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).
• Equivalent training/ experience, and five years of general experience of which two years must be related experience are required.
• Preferred candidate will have experience with numerous equipment model lines such as Yale, Hyster, Clark, Crown, Raymond and Mitsubishi forklifts to include electrical, gasoline, propane and diesel models.

Responsibilities

• Submit purchase order request for parts.
• Maintains a safe work environment by verifying vehicle safety device operation, following standards and procedures.
• Maintains forklift truck and vehicle serviceability by completing preventive maintenance requirements and repairs to include hydraulics systems, electrical systems, and drive train overhauling.
• Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Change and fill batteries and general maintenance on forklifts and stock selectors.
