Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a hands-on worker to support ADU operations, sanitation and transload activities at our site in North Carolina. You will operate a forklift and other farm equipment, assist with groundskeeping and emergency removal tasks as needed, and maintain sanitation records.

Flexibility for varying shifts, adherence to safety policies, and teamwork are essential. A valid NC driver’s license is required and basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to do hard physical labor.
• Strong commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
• Willingness to be on call when needed.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklift and standard farm/utility equipment.
• Must hold a current NC Driver's License.
• Ability to work well with others in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ADU sanitation, transload, groundskeeping and emergency animal removal.
• Operate mowers, tractors, yard jockey trucks and other farm equipment as directed.
• Prepare and maintain sanitation service records.
• Oversee loading and unloading of trailers and trucks; schedule departures to meet shipping schedule.
