Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to do hard physical labor.
• Strong commitment to teamwork.
• Ability to follow instructions and deal with standardized situations.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
• Willingness to be on call when needed.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklift and standard farm/utility equipment such as but not limited to bobcat, tractor, lawnmower, weed eater etc.
• Must hold a current NC Driver's License.
• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in many areas within the site including sanitation and transload duties.
• Operates mowers, tractors, yard jockey trucks and other farm equipment as directed.
• Follow the safety requirements of the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS).
• Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines as directed.
• Flexibility with direction changes from leadership.
• Work as a team to meet daily department goals.
• Report environmental issues to supervision promptly.
• Read and understand the company's emergency notification process.
