Job summary

Hyster-Yale Group is seeking three Forklift Test Drivers for a six‑month contract at our HY US Portland facility in Oregon. The role involves reliability and validation testing of prototype and production forklifts.

Responsibilities include driving forklifts per course maps, maintaining test logs, performing light maintenance, and following safety procedures. Weekend overtime may occur; two shifts are listed.

Qualifications

• Forklift or heavy equipment driving experience is preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task with different hand and foot controls.
• Keep accurate, legible test logs to communicate observations.

Forklift Test Driver – Contract Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has a contract position opening for three forklift test drivers in our Fairview, Oregon facility. HYMH designs, engineers, manufactures, sells and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks under the Hyster and Yale brand names.

We are seeking qualified applicants to test drive forklifts. This position involves reliability and validation testing of prototype and production forklifts.

The following positions are currently available for a 6 month period:

1 positions for Second shift – Monday through Friday (3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.)

May involve possible weekend overtime when testing projects are in high demand.

1 position for Third shift - Sunday through Thursday (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.)

May involve possible weekend overtime when testing projects are in high demand.

Job description:

Drive forklifts following course maps and instructions.

• Keep accurate, legible, and knowledgeable test logs to communicate observations and events to technicians and engineers.
• Perform simple facility or vehicle maintenance duties as assigned.

Forklift or heavy equipment driving experience is preferred. You must be able to multi-task with the use of lots of different hand and foot controls (think riding a motorcycle or a quad).
