Job summary

Robinson, Inc. in Altoona, IA is seeking Shipping Receiving Material Handling Personnel for 1st shift (4/10's) on-site.

The role supports the movement of WIP parts and raw materials across the facility, requiring teamwork, strong time management and adherence to safety protocols. Duties include receiving and unpacking shipments, labeling and distributing items, preparing outgoing shipments, moving materials between work centers, and maintaining records in ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of shipping/receiving experience, ideally with ERP systems.
• Proficient with Windows-based computer systems.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift according to safety regulations.
• Ability to read and understand sales orders, inventory records and shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, verify, label, and distribute incoming shipments of WIP, raw materials and job-related items.
• Prepare outgoing shipments with accurate counts, labeling, packaging and documentation.
• Move raw materials between work centers, staging areas and vendor locations.
• Identify inventory items and coordinate with inventory control to manage stock.
• Adhere to safe manufacturing and material handling practices, including LEAN and 6S.
• Operate forklifts or other equipment to move materials and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain records using computer systems and perform related clerical tasks.
• Coordinate material flow across departments and communicate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform duties indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
