Job summary

Axiom Staffing Group in Pooler, GA seeks Load-by-Weight Forklift Operator to safely move heavy freight, verify load stability, and stack items in warehouses and docks. This role supports Bloomingdale/Pooler and Savannah/Georgetown sites for 1st and 2nd shifts.

We require 2+ years of forklift operation experience with knowledge of load centers, weight distribution, and load stability principles. OSHA safety standards apply; counterbalance or reach truck experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent forklift operation experience.
• Knowledge of forklift capacity limits, load centers, weight distribution, and load stability principles.
• Experience operating counterbalance or reach trucks preferred.
• Ability to lift and handle freight weighing 50 pounds or more on a frequent basis.
• Stamina to stand, walk, bend, reach, and maneuver materials for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Verify safe operating capacities using forklift nameplates, load charts, and load-center calculations.
• Load, unload, transport, and stack heavy, oversized, or off-center freight in warehouses, trailers, and shipping docks.
• Operate counterbalance and reach forklifts in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Perform and document required pre-shift inspections of powered industrial trucks.
• Assess load stability and weight distribution before and during material movement.
• Manually lift, carry, and handle freight weighing 50 pounds or more, in addition to operating powered equipment.
• Secure and position materials safely to prevent shifting, falling, or damage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, including proper pedestrian awareness, equipment operation, and material-handling practices.

Put your forklift skills to work! Join our team as a Load-by-Weight Forklift Operator and safely move heavy freight with precision and confidence. The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely handling, transporting, loading, unloading, and stacking heavy and oversized freight. This role requires a strong understanding of load centers, weight distribution, forklift capacity limits, and load stability to prevent tipping, product damage, and workplace injuries. We have positions open in both Bloomingdale/Pooler and Savannah/Georgetown for 1st and 2nd Shifts.
