Job summary

JOST International in Grand Haven, MI is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials in warehouse and production areas, supporting line targets.

You will load/unload, place finished goods, manage Kan-Ban rotations, and perform daily forklift checks to ensure safe operation.

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the Supervisor of the area they are working in. (i.e, Assembly, Welding, Shipping, etc). It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Performs functions pertaining to the movement of material in the warehouse/production areas and placement of materials/inventory with means of a forklift.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Operate forklift.


• General efficiency of providing the materials to the various lines they are working.


• Loading and unloading trucks, trailers or carriers.


• Placement of finished product and or materials/inventory.


• Rearrange Kan-Ban materials monthly to ensure oldest materials are used first.


• Verifying at the beginning of the shift, on a daily basis, that the fork lift is in good working order. This includes daily maintenance.


• Verify that all materials being moved are properly labeled and/or placed in properly designated, labeled areas.


• Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

REQUIREMENTS
