Job summary

Axiom Staffing Group is seeking a Load-by-Weight Forklift Operator to safely move heavy freight with precision and confidence in our Bloomingdale/Pooler and Savannah/Georgetown warehouses.

You will verify capacities, operate counterbalance or reach forklifts, perform pre-shift inspections, and help ensure load stability and safe handling of 50+ lb loads throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent Forklift Operation with Load by Weight experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of forklift capacity limits, load centers, weight distribution, and load stability principles.
• Previous experience operating counterbalance or reach trucks preferred.
• Ability to safely lift and handle freight weighing 50 pounds or more on a frequent basis.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, reach, and maneuver materials for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely in warehouses, shipping docks, trailers, and varying environmental conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Verify safe operating capacities using forklift nameplates, load charts, and load-center calculations.
• Load, unload, transport, and stack heavy, oversized, or off-center freight in warehouses, trailers, and shipping docks.
• Operate counterbalance and reach forklifts in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Perform and document required pre-shift inspections of powered industrial trucks.
• Assess load stability and weight distribution before and during material movement.
• Manually lift, carry, and handle freight weighing 50 pounds or more, in addition to operating powered equipment.
• Secure and position materials safely to prevent shifting, falling, or damage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, including proper pedestrian awareness, equipment operation, and material-handling practices.

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely handling, transporting, loading, unloading, and stacking heavy and oversized freight.

This role requires a strong understanding of load centers, weight distribution, forklift capacity limits, and load stability to prevent tipping, product damage, and workplace injuries.

We have positions open in both Bloomingdale/Pooler and Savannah/Georgetown for 1st and 2nd Shifts.
