Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Storeroom Attendant / Forklift Operator in Prichard, AL for the first shift. The role offers weekly pay, medical/dental/vision benefits, a 401(k) with company match, PTO, and paid training to support your career in a safe, well-run warehouse.

You will manage inbound products (bolts, cables, reels, wires, anchors) and operate sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and enter data into a WMS system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months of related warehouse experience required
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred
• Learn to operate powered industrial trucks (stand-up/sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks)
• Powered industrial truck certification
• Ability to read and perform basic mathematics in English
• Ability to input data into the WMS system

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers; ensure scanning is correct
• Train dock employees on new procedures; ensure security and housekeeping
• Perform picking and packing duties; check for product or container damage
• Perform material moves with associated transactions
• Participate in team activities to improve warehouse operations
• Perform housekeeping for assigned area
• Perform other duties as assigned
