Job summary

Rand Whitney Containerboard in Montville, CT is seeking a Forklift Operator to load and unload trucks and prep raw materials for recycled paper production. The role offers on-the-job training in a stable manufacturing setting.

You will track incoming inventory, operate forklift/clamp/bobcat as trained, and maintain safe, clean work areas while meeting production and quality goals. Lifting up to 50 lbs and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong computer skills and ability to track inventory.
• Able to work in a team and follow safety rules.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks repeatedly according to established company standards.
• Operate forklift, clamp truck, and/or bobcat per training.
• Enter bale movements into computer system and publish inventory.
• Inspect bales and ensure proper loading on conveyor.
• Help meet production, waste and quality goals.
• Cut beater stock with roll splitter or saw.
• Maintain clean loading area and safe work space.
• Perform maintenance and safety checks on equipment daily.
