Job summary

Rand Whitney Containerboard seeks a warehouse associate to unload trucks, inspect incoming material, stock inventory and assist with loading conveyor lines. You will track inventory in the computer system and maintain a clean, safe work area in a demanding manufacturing environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and the ability to operate a forklift, clamp truck or bobcat. Candidates should be reliable, team-oriented and able to meet production standards.

SUMMARY

Rand Whitney Containerboard is a local, family-owned business with a commitment to the community and sustainability. This role can be a career position in a stable work environment or the beginning of a career in paper manufacturing, we will train! This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient raw material preparation for the manufacturing of recycled paper.

The position will unload trucks, inspects incoming material, stock material, and load conveyor in accordance with company specification. Track incoming inventory using a computer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Repetitively unload trucks in accordance with established company standards.
2. Operate fork truck in accordance with standards and expectation presented in training. Enter all bale movements in current computer/trucking system. Publish inventory numbers.
3. Inspect all bales that are unloaded off the trailers and when loading the conveyor. Use good mix of bales when loading conveyor.
4. Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals. Cut beater stock with roll splitter or saw.
5. Clean and maintain loading area, keep work area clean throughout the shift.
6. Conduct a maintenance and safety check for fork truck at beginning and end of each assigned shift.
7. Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
8. Special projects and assignments as business dictates.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent. Eligible to work in the US.
• Good computer skills, ability to track inventory in a computer.
• Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety and adhere to safety regulations. Must be team player, organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in an environment with frequent changing priorities. Ability to operate a fork truck, clamp truck and/or bobcat.
• Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified.
• Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota.
• Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Able to work in hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment. Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and with heights. Able to work in a tobacco free environment.
• Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel toes boots and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
