Novo Building Products is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to load/unload heavy loads and move pallets in Amherst, NH. The role requires safety-focused operation and adherence to standard work procedures.

The position is full-time with a day shift (10am - 6:30pm, Monday - Friday). Candidates should be able to operate a forklift rated at 6,500 lbs and utilize RF scanners for location accuracy.

Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator experienced in loading/unloading heavy loads onto flatbed trailers. The ideal candidate should have strong forklift operation skills and a focus on safety. If you have a proven track record in this area, we encourage you to apply.

Essential Responsibilities

• Operates a forklift to move products and pallets throughout the warehouse to an area safely.
• Communicate any discrepancies, product issues, or safety issues with the Supervisor.
• Ensures that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate.
• Maintains a clean and safe area free and clear of any debris.
• Anticipates the needs of the business, keeping like products together and accessible.
• Successfully passes all Novo forklift training and operates a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.
• May place standup items into designated areas by hand as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements
• Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.
• Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds.
• Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills
• Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more.
• Prior experience lifting wide loads as long as 18 feet.
• Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift.
• High School Diploma or GED
