Job summary

Portobello America Inc. in Baxter, TN is hiring a Forklift Operator – Sorting & Finishing (Special Pieces). The role supports production by moving special pieces, loading and staging pallets, and ensuring careful handling to protect quality.

Responsibilities include daily forklift operation, inventory tracking, equipment checks, and collaboration with production, quality control, and shipping to meet daily goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain Portobello’s certification.
• 1+ year forklift experience in manufacturing/warehouse environments; handling fragile goods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move special pieces between production, sorting, finishing and warehouse areas.
• Deliver incoming and finished product to lines on time and keep areas stocked.
• Handle pieces carefully to prevent damage and ensure correct pallet labeling.
• Record movements and inventory counts; assist with cycle counts.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections and report issues promptly.
• Coordinate with production, quality control and shipping to meet goals.
• Follow OSHA forklift regulations and 5S safety practices.
