Job summary

Canfor is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Conway, SC sawmill on the 2nd shift (Sunday-Thursday). You will safely move lumber and materials, load/unload trucks, and maintain an organized yard while upholding strict safety standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of forklift experience, particularly with heavy-duty equipment, and the ability to work physically in varying weather conditions. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to support production and safety goals.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of forklift experience, preferably heavy-duty in a sawmill or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety practices.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
• Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate placement and secure handling.
• Good communication and ability to collaborate with production staff and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the forklift to move lumber and materials around the sawmill.
• Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring secure placement.
• Organize and stack materials in designated areas to maintain a clean yard.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the forklift.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
