Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience operating forklifts, preferably heavy-duty in sawmill/industrial settings
• Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety practices
• Able to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, standing long periods, variable weather)
• Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate placement and secure handling
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• TRAINED AND QUALIFIED OPERATOR: must be trained and qualified per OSHA regulations and safe operating procedures

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform daily forklift inspections to ensure good operating order.
• Plan and organize lumber for loading during shift.
• Load tilt-hoist (infeed) with designated lumber and track loads.
• Clean up work area during and after shift.
• Coordinate with production staff and supervisors for smooth operations.
• Assist other mill operations as needed
