Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials within our Mars Hill, Maine facility.

You will operate a small industrial vehicle, perform pre-shift meetings, and ensure safe, accurate shipping and receiving, while keeping the warehouse clean and organized. Responsibilities include completing inspections, following GMPs and SQF principles, and collaborating with office staff to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of Powered Industrial Truck training and forklift certification.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Strong math skills required.
• Ability to analyze situations for safe decisions.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-shift meetings.
• Drive forklift safely and productively.
• Complete daily forklift inspections and remove the lift if defective.
• Ship and receive products accurately and damage-free.
• Monitor the floor for safety concerns and take appropriate action.
• Complete all documents and paperwork accurately.
• Fill customer orders and follow special instructions.
• Work closely with office staff to resolve discrepancies.
• Keep the warehouse organized, clean and pallets stored properly.
• Promote teamwork and positive communication among teams.
• Adhere to GMPs, SQF principles, and safety policies.
• Ensure food safety and quality of MFI products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
