Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, seeks a forklift operator to operate forklift safely and efficiently in our North American building solutions business. The role requires adherence to safety policies and accurate material handling.

Responsibilities include reading specs, positioning forks, transporting loads, weighing materials, and maintaining a clean work area while supporting production. The ideal candidate can lift up to 90 lbs and pass internal certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to pass internal certification.
• Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to stay organized and maintain accuracy in tasks.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• May need to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 90 lbs.
• Repetitive hand/wrist/shoulder motion.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine adjustments and material requirements.
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
• Hook tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transport load to designated area.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance including recharging batteries, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
