Job summary

Americold is seeking a Forklift Operator to ensure safe receipt, storage, and shipment of food products at our facility in Alabama. The role involves operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts, RF scanners, and other equipment while maintaining accuracy and inventory control.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and some related experience, with a strong emphasis on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 months of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to operate multiple forklift types safely.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely using proper equipment to move products to storage.
• Stack and store merchandise, pick/assemble orders, check freight, label, wrap, and repack as directed.
• Operate equipment in accordance with OSHA standards to promote safety.
• Meet production standards and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
• Perform inventory, cleaning, battery changes, and other duties as assigned.
