Job summary

CHEP Container and Pooling Solutions Inc in Redlands, CA is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to safely operate a sit-down forklift, move pallets and materials, and support plant operations with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires at least 2 years of forklift experience, knowledge of safety regulations, and a valid forklift certification if possible. You will work Monday-Friday 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, with bi-weekly pay and full benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of at least 2 years operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures relevant to forklift operations.
• Valid Forklift Operator certification/license preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to position containers weighing up to 50lbs at least 85% of the work shift.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling & Forklift Operation: Operate the forklift to move pallets, containers, and materials throughout the plant facility.
• Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading/unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials, ensuring proper placement and securement.

Job Description Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Material Handling & Forklift Operation: Operate the forklift to efficiently move pallets, containers, and materials throughout the plant facility. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets and transports load to designated area. Conduct inspection of the forklift prior to operating, promptly reporting issues to maintenance team for resolution.
• Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading trucks or containers with pallets or materials using the forklift, ensuring proper placement and securement of items. Lift and carry up to 65lbs Push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet. Pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery. Maintain awareness of pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the work area Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.

As a Warehouse Forklift Operator, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a role that places a strong emphasis on safety. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to retrieve containers or materials from various departments within the plant. Your role involves making decisions to optimize material movement and contribute to the overall efficiency of the plant operations. Additionally, you will perform routine maintenance tasks on the forklift. As well as help sanitize the containers, further expanding your skillset.
