Job summary

Oldcastle APG in South Carolina is seeking a general Yard Worker to assemble orders, wrap pallets, and load them onto customer vehicles using a forklift. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and timely execution in a fast-paced outdoor setting.

You'll work closely with supervisors to pick correct items, perform basic forklift maintenance, and keep the yard clean and organized. A high school diploma and related experience, plus the ability to read safety rules and operate equipment, are required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to pass an internal certification program.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer order slips from supervisor, gather correct products by hand or with forklift, assemble orders for customer, leave in designated spot for pick up.
• Safely utilize forklift to move completed pallets to staging areas, or to load pallets onto vehicles.
• Work directly with customers in a friendly, professional, positive manner to check orders.
• Perform basic, routine maintenance to include recharging batteries; lubricating, fueling and cleaning forklift.
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion in assigned area.
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
