Job summary

Federal Signal Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely move large truck bodies and components within our manufacturing facility, transporting finished bodies to the next production stage. The role requires strong spatial awareness, safety focus, and experience handling oversized loads.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, inspecting equipment, securing loads, coordinating with supervisors, maintaining 5S practices, and assisting with loading and unloading as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience, preferably with oversized items.
• Ability to read and understand job instructions and production schedules.
• Strong communication and teamwork with commitment to safety and quality.
• Able to lift and maneuver heavy materials in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move large truck bodies and parts.
• Safely transport finished bodies from the assembly area to the next stage (paint, hoist, or shipping).
• Ensure loads are secure and balanced to prevent damage or safety risks.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report issues promptly.
• Coordinate material movement with supervisors and production personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area per 5S standards.
• Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA forklift regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
