Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Mt Wolf, PA is hiring a Forklift Operator to join our corrugated facility. You will safely operate a 10,000 lb sit-down forklift, stage products, and ensure loads are secured for shipment. Candidates need at least 1 year of sit-down forklift experience and basic computer/scan gun usage. We offer multiple shifts with overtime, including 2nd and 3rd shift, and a starting wage around $21.93 per hour with potential increases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or scan gun for documentation and/or record-keeping functions

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 10,000 lb. sit-down forklift with push-pull attachment.
• Adhere to all Safety and Compliance rules, policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Loading and unloading materials
• Ensure loads are properly secured and in good condition.
• Ensure accurate record keeping for all inbound and outbound shipments.
• Participating in setting team goals and managing job assignments
• Organize work-in-progress, raw materials, finished goods, and ensure all production machines are loaded with stock to ensure continuous operation
• Communicate with machine operators and other team members to maintain production flow.
• Utilize basic computer skills to complete shipping tasks
• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
• Verify receipts, load sheets, and other required paperwork.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards.

Our forklift operators are responsible for retrieving, organizing, and staging finished products from the production line to ensure smooth workflow and prepare them for shipment or further processing.

Grow Your Pay as You Grow Your Skills

• Start at $21.93/hour
• Earn up to $24.17/hour once fully trained
• $2.00/hour 2nd Shift Differential
• $1.00/hour 3rd Shift Differential
• Additional opportunities to increase your pay as you build skills and contribute to plant performance

Shift:

• Only candidates who are flexible and available to workanyshift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
• The first week of orientation will be on 1st shift (8am - 3pm), then you will be assigned to your training shift after your orientation.

Shift Hours

• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Overtime, weekends as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Minimum of 1 year of sit-down forklift experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 3+ years’ experience operating a propane powered forklift
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry
